This Privacy Policy explains how MyShopMetrics LLC (“MyShopMetrics,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use myshopmetrics.com, the 4man AI machining assistant, our calculators, and related services (the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to this Policy.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide directly:
- Account details: email address and optional display name when you sign up (via magic-link authentication — we don’t store passwords).
- Shop profile: machines, materials, shop rate, preferred tooling brands, coolant type, tolerance class, and free-form notes you save to personalize 4man’s responses.
- Conversations: messages you send to 4man and the responses it returns.
- Calculator inputs: values you enter into our calculators to compute results.
- Payment information: if you subscribe, Stripe collects and processes your payment details. We receive only a customer and subscription identifier — we do not see or store your full card number or CVC.
- Support requests: messages and contact information when you email us.
Information collected automatically:
- Usage data: timestamps, number of questions asked, feature usage, and basic diagnostics to operate and improve the Services.
- Device and network info: IP address, user-agent, browser type. We hash IPs for anonymous rate-limiting (you don’t need an account to try free-tier 4man).
- Cookies and local storage: used to maintain your session, remember UI preferences, and (on Google Analytics, where enabled) measure aggregate traffic.
2. How we use information
- To provide, operate, and maintain the Services;
- To personalize 4man’s responses to your shop’s specific machines, materials, and preferences;
- To process subscriptions, payments, and billing through Stripe;
- To remember conversation history and shop facts across sessions (a Pro feature);
- To respond to support requests and user inquiries;
- To monitor, diagnose, and improve the reliability and quality of the Services;
- To comply with legal obligations, enforce our Terms, and protect the security of the Services.
3. How information is shared
We share information with the following categories of third-party service providers solely to operate the Services on your behalf:

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your data with advertisers.
We may disclose information when required by law, in response to a valid legal process, to protect the rights or safety of users or the public, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of business assets (with notice to affected users).
4. Data retention
We retain your account and shop data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 90 days, except where retention is required for legitimate business purposes (e.g., tax, accounting, fraud prevention) or legal compliance.
5. Your rights and choices
- Access and update: you can view and update your shop profile and conversation history from within the Services.
- Delete shop memory: you can remove specific facts 4man has learned about your shop from the memory audit page (or via the Services UI).
- Cancel subscription: manage from the Subscription portal or by emailing us.
- Account deletion: email info@myshopmetrics.com to request full account deletion.
- California residents (CCPA): you have additional rights to request disclosure and deletion of personal information collected about you. Contact us to exercise these rights; we will not discriminate against you for doing so.
- EU/UK residents (GDPR): you have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. Contact us to exercise these rights. Our legal basis for processing is contract performance (to provide the Services you request) and legitimate interests (to operate and improve the Services).
6. Children’s privacy
The Services are not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect your information, including TLS encryption in transit, row-level security on our database, and principle-of-least-privilege access for employees. No system is perfectly secure — if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.
8. International data transfers
We and our service providers operate primarily in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the U.S., you understand and consent to the transfer of your information to the United States, which may have different data-protection laws than your country.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will notify you (for example, by email or by prominent notice in the Services) before they take effect. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
