πŸ“ Sine Plate & Compound Setup

Calculate gage block stacks for sine bars and sine plates. Supports DMS input and compound angle setups.

Simple Sine Bar Setup
Compound Angle Setup

For a workpiece tilted in two directions simultaneously. Enter the two component angles.

Sine bar formula: Stack = L Γ— sin(angle), where L = sine bar length
Compound angle: tan(true) = √(tan²(X) + tan²(Y))
Rotation: Ο† = atan(tan(Y) / tan(X))

Why Sine Plate Setup Matters

Sine plates and sine bars set precise angles for grinding, inspection, and machining compound angles. The gage block stack height determines the angle β€” and because sine is non-linear, you can't just eyeball it. You need the exact stack for your target angle.
